This month, Jon Martin, the Chief Operating Officer at GTS, celebrates his 25th work anniversary with the company.
Jon has been in telecom for 37 years. Twelve of those years were spent working for Mediacom, and the past 25 years have been spent at GTS. He started as Project Manager in OKC, was promoted to VP of Construction, and later became COO.
Jon has managed projects all over the country, in states spanning from Nevada to New England, with much of his activity focused on the southeast. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Jon’s leadership was instrumental in assisting cable operators with upgrading their HFC networks to two-way data networks. For the last twenty years, he has also led efforts to add capacity and densify fiber deployments.
On April 13th, 2022, the office surprised Jon with a Rolex watch to commemorate his 25 years of dedication.
Mike McCracken, CEO of GTS says, “I would like to thank Jon for his 25 years of devoted service to GTS and its interests. Jon’s industry knowledge and exceptional work ethic have been instrumental to the growth and success of GTS. Jon has continuously strived for excellence in our organization, while displaying servant leadership. I am proud to refer to him as my right hand at GTS, as well as my lifelong friend”
Another longtime colleague of Jon’s, Fred Christian, adds “Happiest of congratulations Jon on your 25-Year Milestone. Thanks for the constant leadership and support over the years. “
Outside of work, Jon is well known as an ardent University of Alabama football fan, with three of his four office walls sporting Crimson Tide memorabilia. Jon is also married to Traci Martin, with whom he shares 30 years of marriage, two daughters and five grandchildren.
Thank you for your hard work all these years, & happy 25th, Jon!
